About Rajesh
Rajesh is a classically trained Hatha Yoga teacher with more than 16 years of international teaching experience. He is currently based in Sweden where he lives with his family. In addition to teaching Yoga, Rajesh also conducts Yoga teacher training programs, Yoga Retreats, Yoga events and workshops in India, Sweden, Bali and Europe.
He was born in and raised in Kerala, South India, the land of Yoga and Ayurveda. Since childhood he was interested with Yoga and Ayurveda. As a teenager he began working for an Ayurvedic pharmacist which led to further studies in Ayurveda therapeutic treatments and Yoga in 2004. Having worked as an Ayurvedic therapist and Yoga teacher at hospitals and resorts Rajesh took the decision to commit fully to the yogic path when he took the Sivananda Teacher Training Course (YTTC) in 2008 and later the Yoga-Acharya (Advanced Yoga Teachers Training Course) in 2009 at the Sivananda Ashram, India. Rajesh studied at the ashram for five and half years learning to teach Yoga and its philosophy.
The Sivananda Ashram is the largest in South India and each year welcomes thousands of students from around the world who wish to learn Yoga. In general, an ashram is a sacred place and very different from a retreat place. It represents an opportunity to step away from worldly affairs and return to a simpler way of living and studying to find your true self. It’s a place to nourish your soul, deepen your spiritual practice, and awaken to your true Self. An ashram is a place for inner freedom.
During his ashram life he has helped out with the daily ashram running while also giving lectures in yoga philosophy, teaching daily asanas classes for beginners and intermediate students. Rajesh also takes part in many of the international Yoga teacher training and Yoga Acharya courses at the ashram. Having followed the yogic path for many years Rajesh has gained extensive knowledge and experience of yoga, both as a student and teacher. He always strives to bring this experience into his classes and will interact individually with students to give guidance and to assist in their development on the path of Yoga. Rajesh has taken yoga classes and given lectures to a variety of organisations in India including schools, universities, community organisations, offices, and a prison.
Each year Rajesh returns to the ashram to continue his service as karma yogi.
Rajesh explains his passion for teaching with the words “My work enables me to share my knowledge of the ancient science of Yoga and Ayurveda to help create wellness of mind, body, and spirit.”

Yoga is a way of life and how you look at life. For many people, yoga is the same as body postures or asanas, but that is just one element of the whole. Without understanding the basic principles of yoga philosophy or if not also practising meditation and pranayama, you are not actually practising yoga. All these practices will together become yoga, which according to philosophy is the unification of the Individual Self with the Universal Self.
